Demons, animals, websites, runny noses

duck {organic innocence}
This update will be rather brief since I'm in the process of an animal rescue at the moment, and things are only just starting to calm down. If I say too much about it I'll only make myself and every decent person reading this very angry, so I'll only say that my downstairs neighbor is the prick of all time, I have rescued his ex-cat from someone else's yard, and she is now safe and on her way to the Humane Society first thing tomorrow.

What is it about horrible people who deserve never to keep an animal and always mistreat them when they do, that they keep on getting more animals? I left a note on his front door saying that if he ever has another animal again, I won't wait for something bad to happen before I report him.

The cat is safe, and she is lovely, but lonely at the moment, since I'm here writing instead of stroking her in my mother's bathroom where she's hiding out until morning. Everything is okay. I just hope karma delivers a righteous ass-whooping. Or I might have to do it myself.

In better, happier news, my website seems to be a success! Lots of people are visiting, and soon it will be fully functional with regular updates.

I wonder, and I'd like your input... should I stop updating the strip on the journal once the site is running fully? It would seem to distract from the site, which was my main goal, if I have it posted everywhere else. What's the general opinion?

Enjoy, and happy Wednesday!

Hulking Demon Guy is kind of handsome in a Hulking Cartoon Demonic way. ;)

I would totally trek over to your website weekly to get my Snap Crackle Pop fix! I love seeing it show up on my friend's list, but if you move it, I will follow.

*hugs* I'm super sensitive to animal situations - I wish I could save them all. It makes me cry sometimes. So I go home and snuggle and love the heck out of the two I have. Even if they're part demon at times.

I think I'll go with what everyone said about leaving a reminder and a link every week. It seems to be what everyone would like, and it suits me just fine! And yeah, you know, I never thought of Warburton as handsome, but sure, I guess I could see that. I have a gay friend who is mad at me for not having introduced him sooner.

Yeah, the animals of the world need looking after. Funny that they never did need it until we came along. Most of us love them the best way we can.

I would miss seeing it on the flist, as I tend to get LJ tunnel vision and forget about things that aren't on my flist for weeks at a time. So how about some middle ground: post the actual comic on the site, but link us to it every week on your LJ. It'll drive even more traffic without actually detracting from anything at all.

Good for you on the animal rescue. I often wonder why so many people don't seem to care whether they can take care of them or not before they get them. But you are an awesome adoptive cat mommy. *hugs*

That seemed to be the popular suggestion, what you said. See, everyone follows your advice! I think that's what I'll do.

I think this cat belonged to this guy's girlfriend. I don't know, though. She's in a shelter now and will hopefully go to a much better family. *big hugs* Thanks.

My sister and I were just talking yesterday about how there needs to be an animal police line. For all the major and minor bad animal parenting offenses. Good for you!!

I love reading your strip here, but I can see how you would want us to view it on the site. Maybe you can post a friendly reminder or a link for us with "LJ tunnel vision", as acroamatica put it. :) I feel stupid - I didn't realize you had a site. The layout is beautiful!

That's right, animal police! The night I picked that cat up I was trying to figure out who I could call in the middle of the night, but no one was open. We need a round the clock guard for that sort of thing. Word up.

The reminder and link idea was pretty popular, so I think I'll do that. Thanks for the suggestion! And I'm glad you like the site.

yea, make the strip website exclusive, but post a reminder.

I think all the major deities would turn a blind eye to the bad things that happen to animal abusers.

That seemed to be the popular suggestion, and so I shall follow it!

Don't you worry, I'll be helping to administer justice to the jerkoff below. I've got all the information I need except one phone number, and I'll have that soon. KARMA, BITCH!

Awww, the big scary demon will come round to your wonderful hospitality. =)

Good on you for saving the cat, honey. I hope your neighbour gets their comeuppance.

And your comic brightens up my Friends Page every Wednesday, but if you'd rather I went to your site, then go ahead. =D

As I said to Nathan just above, Kit's Fist of Fate will smack down upon this cat-abusing jackoff real soon. I have a plan and every piece of info I need except one phone number. Karma in action!

As to the site, the popular suggestion seemed to be that I post a link and a reminder here each week, which is what I shall do.

Love you, Lizzy!

Well, I know that answer! Post a link to your site every Wednesday saying TODAY'S COMIC! I need the reminder because I never know what day it is and I want to keep reading it, but you don't need to actually have it up on your journal if you want the site to be in the spotlight. You know we'll click through.

It's a great idea and since everyone seemed to agree with you, it's what I'll do as soon as everything is running.

Thanks for the advice!

Oh, and kitty! *pout* I've done that quite a number of times myself... well, not the leaving the note part but the Rescue 911 thing.

That seems to be the popular suggestion, putting up a link, so I'll do that. The kitty seems to be okay. At least, I hope she'll be.

Put up a link and a reminder.
And I think you should post the comic itself once in a while. Just to attract new visitors

I vote put up a link, also. That way all of us absent minded types will remember what day it is AND get to see your comic!

Glad you rescued the kitty. As rescuers of several kitties, we have often cursed the (mostly unknown) persons who could dump and/or mistreat a cat or any animal.

Yeah, putting up a link is the best suggestion, everyone else seems to like that idea.

I hope the cat will be okay. I knew you'd understand, being a lover of cats yourself... I just don't understand what type of person would hit an animal with a broom and injure its head. I know the guy's name and where he works, so best believe he'll be paying for what he did.

Ah, I vote for a link, as well. But I'm glad that things with the website are going so well! :D Your comic is pretty much the definition of Awesomeness, so you deserve to get tons of attention for it!

And you are so wonderful for rescuing the cat. You and Lily both have such enormous and fantastic hearts when it comes to animals (and people...and just in general). I hope that this kitty finds a better home with a much better person who actually understands what it means to have a pet and take care of them. It's disgusting what some people seem to think is acceptable with having pets. :(

Yeah, most everyone said a link would be best, so that's what I'll do. Thanks for the advice!

I don't think I did more than any decent person would do in the same situation... big guys have to look out for the little guys, and this little guy was adorable and in need of help. I hope she'll be okay. The guy that did that to her is going to get what he deserves, don't worry. I know his name and where he works now.

Dittoness on the postage of the strip.
You and Lily win at life times a zillion for the way you love animals. I've always thought that those who care for the non human creatures of this earth are the very best kind of the human creatures. There is nothing more precious than knowing one of your purposes is to protect the innocent and defend them from evildoers.
Hope that cat finds a lovely home.
Lord knows there are animal abusers all over the world, but we have it pretty bad here in Taiwan.

PS As much as I love cats, I don't think I could ever own one, because they seriously destroy natural habitats by going after the wildlife. Do you have this problem in Hawaii? I read that you have a big exotic mongoose and rat problem because they were trying to solve another pestilent problem. Sigh, humans are so BLUR sometimes.
[info]kit_a_licious wrote:

Cats don't really destroy anything but carpeting and furniture. They do kill smaller animals sometimes, but this is basic cat instinct and, while it is sad, there's no sense in telling a cat not to be a cat. Wildlife will always thrive when natural predators are keeping their numbers from getting too high, as they've done long before human were around to care what happened. I always feel sad when a cat brings me a "present" of a mouse or whatnot, but I understand that this is just nature at work, and it will work whether I have a cat or not. Besides that, nothing is more satisfying than having a cat jump up onto your bed while you're reading and curl up against your shoulder.

I'm glad the cat has found her way out of Jerkoff's house, and will hopefully never find her way back into it (like the puppy he had and neglected who Lily and I stole when he got out and wasn't looked after, then had to steal again when the Humane Society gave him back to the guy).
