Gahhh! Madness

  • Apr. 30th, 2008 at 11:25 AM
snow white {fairytale}
No excuse, none at all. I just forgot what day it was. But hey, at least it's still Wednesday!

I'm excited about this one. This is the first appearance of my actual cactus, given to me a couple of years ago by my friend Charli. Hope you'll like it.

Oh man, if Mordak and your flytrap got together, it'd be the end, mate. Keep a weather eye on that one.

He might be my new favorite character :D

I forgot to mention this on your last strip, but I really like the new style! I always read your strips and enjoy them, but I haven't been around long enough to comment. Just wanted to remind you that you and your strips are awesome!

Ha! I like him too.

I'm really glad you like the new style. I'm having fun doing it and I hope it'll look good.

Reminds me of the cactus I bought my mom for Mother's Day way back when... unfortunately she killed the poor thing... she watered it too much... LOL

Aww, your poor mom's cactus! Y'know it's crazy, I actually killed Mordak at one point, then brought him back. I had forgotten about him for several months, he turned all shrivled and purple, but I got him back! He's a zombie cactus.

OMG it's Mordak!!! *squees* I can't believe he's still going strong. That strip is SOOOO funny. I swear I laughed for 10 minutes straight. he is the cutest thing ever in his little flowery pot. I may have to print this off and pin it the fridge!!

Yesss, Mordak! You made it happen, sister. He's a healthy little spud. It makes me so happy to hear that you laughed at this. That's my job, you know. And if my art goes on your fridge... man, that would be the coolest. I'd have to ask for a picture of the fridge from you.

Hahahah!! I love how he's all "RAWR!" in the second panel and then in the third panel you see just how little Mordak is. :D Awesomeness!

And I adore your shirt in the third panel - do you really have a shirt like that? I love it!

I love Mordak. I don't know why I didn't put him in the strip sooner.

The shirt I drew is actually a simpler version of this short dress I have that I often wear over jeans. I do that a lot, actually -- I started wearing dresses over jeans when I was in school and everyone thought it was weird, but now, at least in Hawaii, everyone's doing it. ;)

Alright, I literally laughed out loud at that one. I have a cactus in the window and it went from being a little toot to a mass of arms and legs all over the place, spilling out of the tiny pot. I can totally see it thinking it's taking over!

I love Mordak. I especially love that he looks up at you when you find him. And that his pot is flowered. I hope he's a flowering cactus. Brilliant.

He's a funny little thing. I had so much fun drawing him, and I hope he keeps showing up. Actually, one of the sketches that Lily did to help me characterize him was Mordak sprouting a flower and yelling, "What is it?! Getitoff!"

P.S. - it really *is* the coolest tote bag ever.

Yesss! Glad you like it, pops. I was really hoping you would.

Hey, can I see a picture of the bag too? I'm thinking about collecting them, people's photos of SCP stuff, for the website. Do you use it for groceries and stuff, or textbooks?

Great one! I think I had a relative of Mordak's once--this spindly little fuzzy guy who started sprouting more and more 'arms.' He definitely had plans to take over, but eventually he fell over due to his own weight. So instead he just kind of laid there. Unfortunately he developed some kind of fungus or something that caused him to start shriveling, which must have sapped his spirit, because he died. That's my sad cactus tale. (Don't tell Mordak--let him keep his innocent belief in his invincibility for as long as possible.)

That cactus of yours sounds fantastic! Way more ambitious than Mordak -- he's only a bit bigger than he was when I got him. I'm sad for your cactus loss, but maybe you have equally fascinating plants now. ;)
