Hey y'all, happy Saturday! With an iced coffee at my side and a warm fresh-washed kitten asleep on my feet, I thought now would be a good time to upload my next photopost, a rather quirky combination of animal photos, and documentation of various art projects. This will probably give you an accurate idea of what my days are filled with.
That is, aside from when I am working, singing songs about parachutes and making announcements about please not ignoring it when your child pukes on my classroom floor and then not telling anyone that they did it and not cleaning it up.
Anyway, onward! I hope you enjoy. As far as good photography goes, I can claim no artistic merit in these pictures: they're simply there to tell the story, not to look brilliant.

Hey y'all! I have a kitten update, which was earnestly called for by more than one of you. How much empathy a baby animal creates!
I'm happy to say he's doing really well, eating and playing and sleeping and pooping with great alacrity. I was worried about his one eye, which hadn't opened and was protruding way out, but the infection seems to have gone away, and both of his eyes are more or less open, if a little gunky now and then.
I got some imitation cat milk which I feed to him with a tiny bottle, and though he doesn't seem to like the method, he eats well enough. I wash his eyes and self regularly, and he sleeps with a heating pad and a little stuffed kitten my friend Mouse sent me (I hope you don't mind, sweets, it was the best comfort I could give him and he loves it).
I think The Boyfriend is accepting that we should keep him. At first he acted like he was against it, but I think he always wanted to. For now, we're calling him Nathan Jr. (after the baby in Raising Arizona, a favorite movie for both of us) but if it turns out that I was wrong and the kitten is a she (which may be, since it's hard to tell at this age) we'll call her Sophie, which I like.
Suki is, of course, rotten stinky jealous, and usually hides behind the couch all day unless I give her treats. I put the kitten in front of her today to see if she'd take to him, and she promptly threw up on the carpet.
Hopefully, she'll reconcile herself soon. ;)
I know you all want pictures, so here we go!
